What do you love about doing hair?

“I could not imagine doing anything else. I love doing hair because it is so empowering. It empowers people to be bold, courageous, different, defy standards, and gives them the opportunity to share with the world what beauty looks like for them. It also empowers me to take on challenges and to see how the word “beautiful” takes on a different definition with each new person that sits in my chair.

What are some of your favorite services that you do?

“I love lived-in dimensional blondes! I love being able to work with a clients natural color, no matter the shade, and enhance it. I also enjoy giving clients a look that they can feel confident in for a long period of time without the pressure of up-keep. Life can get busy and the salon might not always fit into a schedule, but giving clients a look that will keep them feeling their best until we meet again is a priority. “

What are some services/styles you're looking forward to trying?

“I’m a huge fan of 70’s hair. Anything ranging from high textured, layered looks  to flowing bohemian hair….. and bangs, I love a good bang moment. With that being said, I’m excited to channel that era and see some messy/textured inspiration in my chair. “

Whats a product you tried recently that you love?

“Im currently obsessed with This is an invisible serum from Davines. It is really good at keeping frizz at bay while still being able to have a tousled look. It works with air dried styles or heat styled looks. It is a tiny package but just a little bit has so much impact, especially with shorter hair.”

What is your home routine?

“In all honesty, I am a little lazy with my at home routine. As a mom/step mom to 3 boys, sometimes my hair routine gets cut short. I like to use multifunctional products to cut down on styling time. I wash my hair about twice a week. To ensure my scalp stays fresh, on wash days, I like to use the Soul sea salt scalp scrub first. Then, I usually follow up with Heart of Glass Shampoo and conditioner to keep my blonde looking and feeling its best. After a good towel dry, I spray the Oi  All in one milk on my mind lengths and ends followed up with This is an invisible serum to provide some humidity protection and texture definition. To keep some volume at my roots, I use Blowout Memory Foam from Surface. At this point depending on time, I will either rock an air dried look or blow dry for a tousled look. To ensure I keep my hair looking fresh between washes, I like to use This is an invisible dry shampoo at my roots post blowdry. “

What are you favorites products for your favorite styles you do?

“Finishing hair is one of my favorite things to do . I love creating styles that will last. My favorite product for volume and hold is Blowout Memory Foam from Surface. It provides weightless volume and hold to ensure blowouts on various lengths of hair look good even on the second day. For shorter styles, I like to use This is a dry texture spray on guests with finer hair textures and This is a dry wax on guests with fuller hair. Both do an amazing job at defining layers and allow guests to mold the hair post blowdry. For sleek looks I love to use This is a relaxing moisturizing fluid  from Davines. It does a great job of creating a smooth, glossy, controlled blowout. “

Anything you want people to know about you?

“Being a part of the  beauty industry is not something I had always dreamed of. However once I was exposed to it, I fell head over heels in love. I always knew I wanted to work in an industry where I help people. It started off as wanting to be a teacher, then going to culinary school, then nursing school , then tears because as a 19-20 year old I didn't know what to do with my life. My mom suggested hair school and I thought she was crazy. “I don't even like doing my own hair. Why would I want to do other people's hair?” were my thoughts exactly. It’s crazy how moms know things about you that you don’t even know yourself. My first day of hair school , I loved it. Not necessarily school, but hair…. And people. I love people. Now, I could not imagine doing anything else. Being a hairstylist allows me to love, connect with and help people in a way that no other career can. Maybe this is cliche but, I really do believe hairstylists have the ability to change the world one person at a time. Coming back to my 19 year old desire of wanting to help people, I now realize I do this every day .As hairstylists we are  secret keepers, confidants, and safe spaces. We allow people to feel, to be heard, and to be loved. We get to connect through eye contact, physical touch and storytelling everytime someone is in the chair. I can't think of a better career path to be a part of. I'm so glad it found its way to me.<3”
