It’s the season of love and at Hair Undone we LOVE doing hair! Our talented stylists, Aurora and Lindsay, are here to show you how to recreate these cute heart shaped buns. This is an easy way to celebrate the holiday with a bit of flair. Follow along to see how you can achieve this look at home:

Before we start you’ll need the following:

• 2-4 Small Hair Elastic Bands

• Comb

• Brush

• Optional: Texture Spray

• Optional: Hair Clips

How to creat heart shaped buns:

1. Start with clean, dry hair. Detangle and curl if desired.

2. Section out a small ponytail and secure with an elastic band (two if you want double buns!) You can use the photos above and below to reference where your buns placement should be.

3. Above the elastic band (near the scalp), use a comb to split the section in half

4. Loop the ponytail in between these two sections (it should invert on itself) by pulling the base of the ponytail through the bottom of this opening.

5. Pull the ponytail to secure it.

6. Split the remaining ponytail in half and twist in opposite directions. You’ll see a heart shape start to form at the top.

7. Secure about mid way down with another elastic band.

8. Optional: Use texturizing spray and gently pull on the twisted strands to make the heart bun appear larger

9. Optional: Add your favorite love day hair clips and hit the town!
